Oh, hi!

My name is Steph Pangburn and I am thrilled that your interest in my artwork has landed you here on my page! I’m a Mom of two young boys and in addition to my passion for flowers, I’m an animal lover. I live in a bit of a zoo here alongside my Australian Shepherd, Luna, three insane rescue cats, and a leopard gecko named Pancakes. I have a degree in Biotechnology, but I hated being in a lab alone every day, so I decided that despite the crippling student debt, I might as well do what I love while I’m alive on this big green planet hurtling through space.
I reside in and grew up in Bucks County, about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia, and absolutely love the beauty in this little slice of Pennsylvania. I’m an avid gardener, having learned nearly everything I know from my late Mom. Many of the pieces I sell that are not commissioned include the flowers from my own garden; in fact, each image of live flowers that you see on my website have all been grown by me! (What can I say? I’m a proud Garden Mama!) You’ll notice in my pieces that I have a strong affinity for roses and dahlias - my two favorite flowers to grow and enjoy. In fact, Rose is actually my middle name, so it’s fitting that I am obsessed with them. If you’re interested in how I stumbled into this type of artwork, scroll on down this page. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about a piece listed, a commissioned bridal or memorial piece, or even just to say hi! I love to hear from other artists, gardeners, and even just fans of floral art! Show me your garden!

“… to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”

Beauty Blossoming from Grief
A few days before Christmas my Mom, an ovarian cancer survivor was diagnosed with nodules on her brain. My Mom, my rock, my best friend. I decided I needed a way to escape my racing thoughts so I started messing around with resin and fluid acrylics. Being that I have always felt a creative nudge, I wanted to create something beautiful without having to know how to draw or paint. Not long after, the love of gardening I got from my Mom lead me to combine the two hobbies and I found myself falling into professional flower preservation. The bulk of the flowers I use outside of client bridal and memorial bouquets are grown with love in my personal gardens.
Mom always said she wished we could do a craft together, make something beautiful and then sell it at a craft show as a Mom-Daughter team. She spent countless days and nights crafting for sales when I was a kid to put food on the table, so she was no stranger to creating. It’s bittersweet. I stumbled upon this just as her mind was slipping away. She would have loved everything about the tedious and delicate nature of creating these one of a kind pieces. Mama saw my very first preserved and cast flower before she died in April 2019 from leptomeningeal carcinomatosis a few months after the diagnosis of the brain nodules. She was 62 years young and just stunning. Her smile, her presence, it just lit up a room. I feel like each piece I create helps to heal my broken heart just a little bit more. From holidays, silly ideas, and happy occasions like weddings and births, to creating beauty from someone's grief as a memorial piece, capturing these emotions as a flower frozen in time brings me such joy and healing. I hope that I can bring a little bit of that love to you.
“I love you today” and always. 1956 - 2019
